Quote from this site or the books for review, comment, teaching or journalism, with attribution. Reproduce cover images in reviews and articles. Print the free workbooks and use them personally or with the people you manage or teach. Link to anything here, including deep links to a specific question or case.

What to ask about first

Reproducing a whole chapter, republishing substantial extracts, using material in a commercial training product, or translating anything. I hold the rights outright so the answer is usually yes and the paperwork is short. Ask here.

What the career material is

General information, based on nearly twenty years of working in the field and sitting on hiring panels. It is not personal careers advice, and it is not employment, financial or legal advice. Salary figures are approximate, move constantly, and vary by employer, sector and negotiation. Certification prices and funding rules change without notice. Verify anything you are about to spend money on with the provider before you spend it.

What the historical material is

The case summaries on this site are short accounts of well-documented public events, written for a general reader. The books carry the fuller accounts and their sources. Where I have got something wrong I want to know, and it goes on the corrections page, credited unless you would rather it were not.

Accuracy and availability

I keep this site current as far as is reasonable, but nothing here is warranted to be complete or up to date, and it may be unavailable from time to time. Decisions you take on the strength of it are your own.
