No cookies. No tracking. No analytics.
This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics or advertising scripts of any kind. The only personal data it handles is what you deliberately type into a form.
What is collected
Only what you type into a form and submit. There are two:
The mailing list. Your email address, and nothing else. There is no name field because I do not need your name to send you a message about a book.
The contact form. Your name, your email address and your message. You choose what goes in the message.
If you email me directly rather than using a form, I hold that email in my mailbox in the ordinary way.
What is not collected
No cookies are set. Nothing is written to local storage. There is no analytics package, no advertising network, no social media pixel, no session recording and no fingerprinting. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so simply reading a page sends your details to nobody.
My web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as every web server does. I do not analyse them and they are not linked to anything else.
Why, and on what basis
Mailing list — consent, given by submitting the form. Used to tell you when a book is published and occasionally to point at something written here. Withdraw it at any time by replying to any message, or by writing to the address opposite, and you are removed the same day.
Contact form — legitimate interests, being that if you write to me it is reasonable that I read it and reply.
Who else sees it
Form submissions are processed by Formspree, which receives the contents of the form and forwards it to me by email. Formspree is based in the United States and transfers are made under its standard contractual clauses. Its own privacy policy is at formspree.io.
Nothing is sold, rented, shared for advertising, or passed to any other party. There is no data broker in this chain and there never will be.
How long it is kept
Mailing list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Contact messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted, unless the exchange became an ongoing piece of business.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to contact@ronanblake.co.uk and I will respond within one month, usually far sooner. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right.
Links away from here
Links to Amazon, Apple Books, Instagram and other sites take you to organisations with their own policies, over which I have no control.
Changes
If this notice changes materially I will say so on this page and date it. The version above is current as of August 2026.
