Ronan Blake is the author of The Hacker Chronicles, a four-volume narrative history of computer crime, and the Honest Guide series on breaking into UK cybersecurity. He has spent nearly twenty years in the field — application security, vulnerability management, data security, identity and strategy — across financial services, government, defence and critical national infrastructure. His first novel, Adjacent, publishes in September 2026.
Ronan Blake is a cybersecurity practitioner with nearly twenty years in the field, spanning application security, vulnerability management, data security, identity and strategy, across some of the most regulated environments in the UK — financial services, government, defence and critical national infrastructure.
He is the author of The Hacker Chronicles, a four-volume narrative history of computer crime from the 1970s to the present day, and of the Honest Guide series, which covers breaking into UK cybersecurity and surviving its interviews. He has sat on hiring panels at every level and reviewed hundreds of CVs from candidates trying to make the move.
His first novel, Adjacent — a literary thriller set in Bristol — publishes in September 2026. He lives in the south west of England.
